Basis FT, working 40hrs weekly (Mon – Fri 7.00am – 3.30pm). OT may be required , ie starting before or finishing later on weekdays or working on Saturday)
Responsibilities::
- Serve as primary operator of Company vehicles
- Drive to deliver goods to destination as assigned
- Review orders prior to delivery.
- Coordinate and assist with the dismantling, collection, stacking and packaging of recyclable materials.
- Assist with the loading of recyclable material onto containers in preparation for shipment.
- Ensure the proper labelling of waste and containers prior to delivery and shipping.
- Load/unload the cargo, ensuring that all loads are safely positioned and secured in accordance with company policies and local regulations
- Conduct site and vehicle decontaminations as required.
- Complete necessary paperwork, including keeping record cargo & deliveries and obtaining delivery signature for proof of delivery and condition of goods.
- Responsible for the operator level maintenance and upkeep of assigned PTMatic delivery vehicle (refuelling, interior and exterior cleaning, and minor preventive maintenance eg tire inflation, oil levels, windscreen fluid levels, and similar).
- Adhere to strict delivery timelines.
- Report delays, accidents or other traffic and transportation situations that may delay deliveries.
Safety :
- Maintain and execute the proper use of personal protection and decontamination equipment.
- Ensure a safe and healthy work environment by maintaining compliance with operational safety policies, procedures, and requirements.
- Strive to improve safe work practices in line with OHSA guidelines.
- Enforce company safety policies and ensures safety equipment is provided as needed to employees so they may safely perform the duties of their jobs without injury to themselves or others.
Requirements:
- Valid driving license (Category C) and a clean driving record. Preference shall be given to applicants having a valid Malta Transport or EU driving licence together with a Certification for Professional Competence (CPC)
- A clean Police Conduct.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- Driving skills and road safety awareness
- The ability to plan the route according to delivery requirements
- An accurate sense of direction and comprehensive visual memory
- Written and verbal and numeracy skills
- Customer care and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work under pressure and to work independently as well as being part of a team
- A pleasant and outgoing personality and a well-groomed appearance
